The Powerful Attraction of Steam.

Market Place

The Pleasure of Shopping, Eating and Friends

You might just think  that all is well in the world!

“If I’m happy and enjoying myself, then all IS well in MY world!”

Yet at this very moment of time, war rages, people are oppressed, injustice reigns!

Whatever peace and pleasure we manage to enjoy, it’s brief and it’s not long before trouble interrupts our lives and we come back to reality with a bump.

Job’s miserable comforters summed it up like this:

Job 5:7  Man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward. (NKJV)

Solomon  writes in Proverbs 14:12 (NKJV)

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

Jesus Christ said: Matthew 7:13 (NKJV)

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

From this perspective the message of the Bible really is ‘Good News’:

Many people took away our ‘Easter’ leaflet, happy to receive a copy of the record of God’s great intervention on man’s behalf.

The ‘awful ‘ events that took place on Calvary, gave way to the well established facts of the resurrection, and the subsequent hope of a life free of all sin and trouble.

Colossians 1:19–22 (NKJV)

For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.

My great need, your great need, is the peace that God gives, a lasting, substantial sense that all is well, not just because I’ve found a moment of pleasure, but because God the Son suffered and died to break sin’s icy grip, to bear the curse of it’s consequences and set you and I free.

Make sure you know and enjoy the freedom for which you were designed.

Free to Run as designed, are you?
