A FINE SATURDAY AFTERNOON –

THERE’S GOOD NEWS WAITING

FOR ALL WHO’LL TAKE TIME TO FIND IT.

Good News!

Jesus Christ told a parable of a man who found an incredibly valuable pearl and sold all he had to buy it. [Matthew 13:45 & 46] This table is covered in pearls, and they are free!

Isaiah the prophet explains the principal in Chapter 55:

1  “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.
2  Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
3  Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—The sure mercies of David.

There are People about, but most just pass by, oblivious to what’s on offer.

John Chapter 5:

39  “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.
40  “But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

The Ropery

Mark tells us that Jesus that Jesus marveled because of their unbelief, and so therefore should we. [Mark 6:6]

A few brief conversations revealed the ignorance that now abounds in the hearts and minds of ordinary people.

One lady introduced herself as an atheist and when questioned agreed that such a stance was foolish. She said something like – everyone calls on God when they are in trouble! She didn’t wait around long enough to let me explain how much trouble people are in and to advise to flee to Christ as the only place of safety.
Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Another took the tract out of her husbands hand and gave it back to me, saying ‘We are Church of England’

Pr 14:12  There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

So the Good News of God’s love and mercy through the sacrifice of His Son remained unreckognized.
Waiting to be discovered and enjoyed, what about you, are your sins forgiven, Christ died to forgive the sins of all who will turn to him in faith. If you can’t come to talk, leave a comment and I’ll get back to you.

APRIL 10th

Spring is in the air and it’s time to be out and about again.

Some people about, but not many.

Visitors Have Time To Loiter, will they spend some of it here?

The Table

I stood back and waited for people to exercise their curiosity, but they didn’t, a few passing looks, an odd smile and hello, but, hey we are British, you don’t do religion in public!

Enough people to hope for an interest?

Sadly those who looked didn’t stop, the few to who I offered a leaflet refused, one man actually brought his back when he realised what he’d been given. Some did take them but no one stopped to talk.

Not so many people today.

Today’s people will flock to a steam engine, stop to watch its smoke and steem belch out. But ask them to discuss their standing with God and they hurry away.
